What homeowners feel

Where folks are when they call us.

A roof claim is rarely the homeowner's first time dealing with their carrier on something this size. Most calls land in one of four buckets.

Not sure if there is a claim

Storm hit and you do not know if there is enough damage to justify filing. A free roof check tells you.

Adjuster scope feels low

Items look missed. Code upgrades, decking, drip edge, ridge vent — common misses we can document.

You do not want to navigate alone

Carrier portals, depreciation, supplements — we have walked them many times before.

Carrier needs documentation

Photos, drone imagery, a scope written for review — what most homeowners do not have time to produce.

Our claim process

Six steps. Plain English.

A roof claim runs the same way every time. Here is what to expect from the day you call us to the day we hand you the warranty packet.

  1. 1

    Document

We meet you on site. Roof walk, drone photos, attic check, moisture map. Date-stamped evidence.

  2. 2

    File

If you haven't filed yet, we walk you through calling your carrier. You always file the claim — never us.

  3. 3

    Adjuster meet

We're on the roof with the adjuster pointing out what they can't see from the ladder. Photos shared on the spot.

  4. 4

    Scope

We review the carrier's scope line by line. If items are missing, we submit a supplement with photo evidence.

  5. 5

    Repair

Materials matched, deck replaced where needed, system installed to manufacturer spec. Photos throughout.

  6. 6

    Final inspection

Punch list walk. Warranty packet handed over. Final invoice and carrier documentation closed out.

Deductible & out-of-pocket

What you'll actually pay.

Your out-of-pocket on a covered roof claim is almost always your deductible. That number is on your declarations page. Hurricane and wind deductibles in Baldwin and Mobile counties are often 1–5% of the dwelling coverage, not a flat dollar amount.

A note on deductible "rebates." Some contractors offer to waive or absorb your deductible. In Alabama that arrangement can put your claim at risk and is restricted by state law. We don't do it. We'll always charge what the carrier scoped and collect your deductible.

ACV vs. RCV

Two words that change your check.

ACV — Actual Cash Value

The depreciated value of the roof. If your 18-year-old roof gets hailed out and your policy is ACV, the carrier pays the value of an 18-year-old roof, not a new one.

RCV — Replacement Cost Value

The cost to replace with new materials. You get an initial check for the depreciated value, and the carrier releases the remainder — "recoverable depreciation" — once the work is complete.
